dozen. Hey people I'm busy! I've got a development strategy document
to write.

I can't imagine why - looks like I might be coming here more often!

I'm not going to get into a them and us debate.
Every forum or ng has its own nuances, subtleties and intricacies;
scouting ones are not the exception. They have good points and bad
points.
Here there's experience and robust debate, but there's also the daily
sale of handbags, trainers and watches! :-)
Elsewhere the shopping side might be banned (or traders shooed away)
and there's a lighter side to debate.
And lot's more in each besides.
Which is best?
Silly question really. People have a preference and should be free to
choose. There's plenty of space for all. If you want to sit here, pull
up a chair. If you want to go elsewhere fine, take your foldaway chair
and camp over there - wherever there may be. In fact, get two or more
chairs and swap between two or three or four forums/ng's if you want
to.
And no, people here won't nick your seat while you're away! We have an
open policy to welcome all travellers. And we have a first class
virtual welcome and catering team on hand whoever you are! :-)
We get troublemakers on here. The whatisname guy with the silly
pseudonym...mr gaga or whatever for one! :-)
We get boring ol' farts (sorry must watch my p's and q's) on here -
the whatisname...mr gigi for one! :-)
Nowhere is perfect.
I want to see all forum/ng scouters and friends post where they like.
I certainly don't want to see a recruitment campaign run to attract
more here, for example. People are free to choose.
Some places I hear have had a bit of 'excitement' recently. It
happens. Sometimes these things can be good for the ng's soul. Throw
in a controversial, unusual, distinctive catalyst and who knows what
might show up. On show then might be issues which need attention. Who
knows!?
Stormy weather can upset many a seemingly stable ship and throw up all
sorts of things from the bilges. Give it a scrub down, tidy away, put
things ship-shape and, hey ho, the boat will catch the wind again and
be off on its merry way soon enough.
Peter and I have a mutual acquaintance and I'm led to believe that
they've swapped views and stories over the past day or two. Some
shared, some different opinions no doubt? But a shared understanding.
I think his acquaintance has set sail for pastures new; it happens. I
don't think he'll be seen in Peter's house again, but if Peter wants
to go on a day trip here from time to time, fine by me. Just be
careful around throwing-out time - some of the drunken crowd round
here have a certain robustness that requires caution and a delicate
touch!
And watch out for Mr GooGoo! He doesn't blow soft gentle bubbles; he
throws brickbats on occasions during his pastrami on rye activities/
debates.
Did you not get a cuppa? Catering team on maternity leave?
UKRS is open for business!
Now who wants a pair of nike trainers, 20,564 owners only, brand new,
honest guv? :-)
