Semaphore flags

Im looking for 2 or more pairs of semaphore flags of a size small emough
to be used in the hall for practice but large enough to be able to be
used on camp (say 1 foot square or similiar)

does anyone have any ideas of where to buy sutch?

Do like our Cub Leader did and go down the market and get some red and
yellow cloth and get a oparent to knock them up on a sewing machine fasten
them on a bit of dowel and job done.

Wouldn't this be a good project for someone to make them?

That is what I would do, just ask and see if you can find a volunteer
there is bound to be someone who could do it.

Our ancient Troop semaphore flags are blue and white, but all the ones
on the web are red and yellow. Is there a "standard" colour - if so
has it changed or are ours plain wrong? Someone must know!

From what i have been reading blue and white is actually the correct
colours unless you are a sea scout group.

origianlly the red and yellow was used at sea and the blue and white on
land, but the blue ones have practially died out and all the alpahbets i
can find show red and yellow ones. so i will go with those

Red/yellow is going to be more visible. My dad (one of the founders of
the Group) was in the Royal Engineers, so if they were "acquired" from
there, they would be land pattern ones. I had a suspicion that as our
Group scarf is blue/white they may have been peculiar to us but now we
know - thanks.
